Job Purpose

Establish procedures for maintaining high standards of operations, quality and safety in conformance to the company policy. Evaluate and develop improved techniques for the control of operations, quality, reliability and safety. Ultimate aim is to support the smooth and uninterrupted operations and keep our reputation among customers, consultants, clients and enhance our business.

Key Result Areas (Key Accountabilities) 

1. Sections under your jurisdiction:
• Batching Plants
• Ice Plants
• Generators
• Air Compressors
• Sand Washing machines
2. Develop and implement strategy for plants QMS management system so as to meet organisational performance plans within permissible budget and time scale.
3. Review the prevailing system, identify the shortfalls and establish/ maintain appropriate system for measuring necessary aspects of plant management and improvement.
4. Monitor measure and report on plant related issues/development plans / achievements within timescales.
5. Manage and control department expenditure within permissible budgets.
6. Ensure the periodic calibrations are carried to meet the technical department requirements.
7. Ensure software functions of plants are checked in periodic intervals, backup stored and extra copies of soft wares kept in stock
8. Ensure the quality of repairs and maintenance in manufactures standards with market reputations.
9. Preventive maintenance should be done in scheduled time in coordination with the production related people so as to ensure that immediate interruption to production is avoided.
10. Ensure all records/catalogues related to equipments and machineries are maintained properly in the respective section for immediate reference.
11. Monthly budget requirement of plant division for the coming month to be submitted 10 days prior to the month end for approval.
12. Ensure that all correspondences from anybody in plant division are routed through and approved by you only.
13. Ensure stores and purchase department are performing in satisfactory level and if problems are noted necessary action can be taken in consultation with management.
14. Ensure maximum manpower utilisation through task cards to achieve operational efficiency and reduce idle time.
15. Study / forecast submit the additional manpower requirements of Division on quarterly basis
16. Management reserves the right to review and revise above mentioned job responsibilities and to give additional responsibilities if deemed necessary. 

Job Context 

1. Frequent visits to each Batching plant locations, to observe the plant and equipments performance.
2. Local and international interaction in Suppliers & technology, design and overall supervision of activities.
3. Dealing with all Batching Plant and equipment matters requiring prompt decision making.
4. Decision making to resolve problems and improve efficiency of operations.
5. Effective communication with sub-ordinates and with GM&OM
6. Providing support to other departments in decision making

Education and Experiences

• A Mechanical Engineer, with post qualification experience of around 10 years in a similar industry / plant.

Job Prerequisites

1. Knowledge of management and office/Plants software
2. Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills
3. Good planning, problem solving and analytical thinking skills.
