Procurement Inspector / Expeditor (Oil & Gas)
Primary
objective
Monitor the materials expediting/inspection
activities of EPC contractors and others involved in the delivery of multiple
oil and gas facilities projects
Project:
The
project is a 5 year contract in Kuwait. Our client’s scope of work will be FEED
/ PMC for all projects within their area in Kuwait.
Expectations
are that the Kuwait team will be 200+ strong and projects executed within this
5 year timeframe will likely be USD4-5B. It will include small Brownfield mods,
major Brownfield upgrades and some Greenfield projects.
This

Specific
Accountabilities
·
Receipt and tracing of all deliverables and responses to EPC Contractor.
·
To monitor the progress of EPC contractor.
·
Ensure material delivered is inspected for conformance
to specifications.
·
Co-operate with all relevant Project
Management Team members and other parties to ensure the specified equipment is
provided on time, on schedule.
·
Co-operate with estimating department in providing
cost data as required.
·
Receive and review purchase requisitions.
·
Ensure required vendor documentation is
supplied on schedule.
·
Desk expediting of equipment and materials
ordered, tracking vendor’s progress and prepare regular reports.
·
Liaise with QC coordinator to manage timely
inspection of the goods on order as well as to arrange for field expediting
visits when required.
·
Liaise with or act as logistics coordinator
to support timely delivery of the goods to destination.
·
Liaise with Materials Management at Client,
Fabrication Contractor or other as directed.
·
Quality Assurance – Responsible for working
within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system.
·
Safety – Responsible for personal safety and
safe working practices, understand and follow OH&S procedures.
·
Provide an effective expediting service in
accordance with a Project’s requirements.
·
Control suppliers/subcontractors in
maintenance of their own expediting efforts.
·
Co-ordinate expediting activities.
·
Initiate expediting action – either desk or
field.
·
Determine extent of surveillance required.
Essential
Skills/Experience
Must have proven experience in
all aspects of material and various equipment inspection related to the oil
& gas industry with through knowledge of applicable of international codes
and practices.
Matching
Indicators
Minimum 10 years total experience
of which 5 years must have been in a similar role in the oil & gas industry.
Degree/Diploma holder;
Professional Member of the
Chartered Institute of Purchase & Supply (CIPS) or equivalent is preferred
but is not mandatory
