Brand new position with a multinational consultancy working closely with the Chinese government on a mega project in China.
Job Description
Under
the direction of the Material Manager performs receipt inspection of incoming
materials and equipment, prepares material receiving reports to disposition
damaged materials or shipment discrepancies. Insures the detailed purchase
order file records are kept and performs input to the Marian system to maintain
material inventory records. Also insures that materials and equipment are stored
in accordance with technical requirements and oversees the preventative
maintenance program including documentation of all maintenance tasks and
checks. In addition, the Material Controller is responsible for interfacing
with construction staff and contractors on the availability and status of
materials. Reviews and processes stores issue requests and materials reservations.
Thereafter, oversees the staging and issuance of materials to requesting
contractors. Also advises the Material Manager on unavailable required
materials.
Arabtec Holding, the biggest construction company in the UAE,
said on Sunday it had won a building contract valued at AED710 million
($193 million) to build the first stage of an 80-storey tower
comprising a five-star hotel.
