Job Description
Review, approve and process all mechanical technical submittals.
· Review, approve Contractor’s shop drawings, in compliance with IFC drawings, Project specification and National and International standards.
· Review, approve and process all mechanical material submittals and samples for compliance to the Project specification.
· Liaise with the Clients engineers.
· Liaise with local authorities and ministerial agencies having jurisdiction over the project.
· Review contractor’s correspondence related to mechanical works. Prepare appropriate response when necessary for the Resident Engineer’s review.
· Receive/action Request for Information (RFI) that apply to mechanical works. RFI’s requiring design feedback will be directed to the Designer for response. Review the responses for adequacy.
· Review contractor’s mechanical change order proposals. Prepare recommendations to Resident Engineer for review. If warranted, assist in negotiations with contractors regarding changes in contract value or project duration.
· Review contractors’ claims related to mechanical works. Prepare recommendations for claims approval or rejection. Assist in negotiations with contractors regarding the value of claims or changes in schedules.
· Witness testing and commissioning of the works.
· Approve the contractors’ as-built drawings and O&M manual submittals.
· Perform all other duties that may be requested by the Construction Manager.
· Perform all other duties that may be requested by the Senior Mechanical Engineer.
· Liaise on a technical basis with the Resident Engineers.
Profile
Recognised Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering,
Knowledge of relevant legislation and proficiency in the use of ACAD
