Job Description

• Managing costs on a wide variety of new projects;
• Undertaking costs analysis for repair and maintenance project work;
• Assisting in establishing a client's requirements;
• Preparing early stage budgets and detailed cost plans;
• Performing risk and value management and cost control;
• Advising on procurement strategy;
• Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities;
• Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks;
• Preparing and analysing costings for tenders;
• Establishing and operating cost and financial control systems;
• Allocating work to subcontractors;
• Negotiating to ensure budgets are not exceeded;
• Providing advice on contractual claims;
• Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports;
• Valuing completed work and arranging payments;
• Developing knowledge relevant to contract conditions and their applications;
• Maintaining awareness of the different contracts in current use;
• Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.
• To monitor incoming and outgoing client and subcontract correspondence, identify possible commercial risks and opportunities and report same to Project Manager for further action.
• Coordinate Subcontracts administration, prepare minutes of subcontract meetings, prepare commercial documentation for project i.e. subcontract progress, invoices to client, monthly subcontract accounts, claims etc under direction from Project Manager.
• Support Project Managers with day to day commercial activities on project
• Maintain schedules for various subcontract and client reports.
• Assist in preparation of subcontract agreements and work orders where required.
• Prepare, monitor and update CCS Validations and Project Financial reports with Project Manager.

• To be fully responsible for project overall commercial function
• To create/implement/monitor practical cost plan and useful finance control.
• To submit/prepare monthly/annually finance control review.
• Preparation of subcontract and material procurement planning.
• To prepare and submit progress claim to employer on time.
• Responsibility of subcontractor management.
• Ensure contracts and subcontracts are administered efficiently.
• Maintain accounts in accordance with budgets and cash flow and accounting procedures.
• Mitigate and defend claims from subcontractors.
• Maximize Companies recovery of costs
• Ensure commercial correspondence is kept up to date and subcontract deliverables and contractual requirements are achieved.

• Ideally 8 years broad experience in Quantity Surveying, preferred in ME&I Construction .
• Possess good communication & team work skills and be able to work creatively and possess leadership quality skills.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or construction based similar qualification.
