Basic Function and Scope

• Plans, supervises and exercises direct control of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument and Control groups for planned/ corrective and project support work activities.
• Activities cover all turbo-machinery, rotating equipment, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC and cranes.
• Ensures the safety and well being of all employees and contractors working under his control and continued integrity and efficiency of plant equipment.
• Ensures all work is carried out in conformance with the integrated plan, in accordance with safety standards and relevant maintenance procedures.

Tasks and Duties

• Support and satisfy the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of co’s Health, Safety and Environmental Management System.
• Ensure HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility.
• Provides direct technical guidance and supervision for the Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument and Control groups involved in the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment including replacement and overhaul.
• Ensures quality of work through adherence to standards and procedures and sound technical work practices.
• Employs effective decision-making processes
• Develops plans for the Maintenance Group that are aligned with business needs in order to accomplish business goals.
• Communicates expectations to the Maintenance Group.
• Works with others in a multi-disciplined/multi-cultural environment to optimize use of resources, resolve failures, improve procedures and processes, and ensure the health and safety of personnel and equipment and protection of the environment.
• Utilises knowledge of process operations to recognize impacts to production caused by maintenance and failure of equipment including turbines, centrifugal gas compressors, and centrifugal pumps.
• Ensure the adequacy of spares / stock levels and consumables for all Maintenance activities and work scope.
• Provides daily/weekly maintenance progress update or technical reports as required by management.
• Manage in conjunction with the Planning group & the Senior Maintenance Foreman accurate planning to guarantee adequate skills and resources are in place at all times to ensure that the Business objectives are achieved.
• Ensure the adequacy of spares / stock levels and consumables for all Maintenance activities and forthcoming Campaign / Shutdown work scopes.
•  Supervise and co-ordinate First-line & Campaign Maintenance activities
• Lead and assist the planning function to minimise plant downtime, optimise available resources and ensure appropriate effort is applied to addressing the completion of critical and overdue activities to meet KPI planning compliance.
• Actively support the delivery of offshore KPIs in his area of influence.
• Carries out worksite audits of maintenance and other teams to ensure quality and safety.
• Particicipates in and promotes Company Horizon Zero and STOP safety programs
• Is a member of the offshore emergency response team (ICS). 


Supervisory Responsibility

• Manage, coach, teach & mentor of supervisors, identifying Competency, Training Requirements, & Personnel Development opportunities.
• Provide instruction and guidance in the co-ordination of multi-activity work scopes.
• Plan, evaluate and delegate responsibility while retaining accountability
• Contribute to personnel selection and performance appraisal.  Conduct regular assessments with the Technicians to continually maintain and improve the individual & overall team development to ensure an efficient and effective workforce.
• Ensures quality and completeness of information within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (Maximo). 
• Utilizes performance management for all direct reports providing performance appraisals on an annual basis conforming to a structured appraisal process covering feedback and coaching through each appraisal period.
• Provide work direction / priorities to Trade Supervisors
• Fills in for the position of Senior Maintenance Foreman during absence


Minimum Requirements

• Completion of Secondary (10 years) education, followed by 3 yr Diploma or apprenticeship in Electrical, Mechanical, Control or Instrumentation (equivalent to UK City and Guilds, NVQ or ONC).
• 10 years' experience in the maintenance, repair, overhaul of a variety of offshore electrical, instrumentation & mechanical equipment in an oil & gas/ petrochemical environment (of which 2 years spent in a supervisory position) .
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Working knowledge of computer applications software such as Microsoft Office/ Computerised Maintenance management systems (ideally Maximo).

Basic Function

• Coordinates the receipt, repair or replacement of major and minor Static Equipment such as heat exchangers, oil coolers, filter assemblies, Turbine Inlet and Exhaust assemblies and housings,  marine buoys and power tools and the return of repaired equipment offshore or to warehouse stock. 
• In coordination with Static Equipment Engineer Analyses and defines repair work requirements and processes necessary documentation to have equipment repaired in-house or at vendor/manufacturer locations locally or abroad.
• Also accountable for leading, managing and supporting the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of the Company's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System.
• Monitor activities for compliance.
• Ensure HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility.
• Unsafe acts and/or conditions, no matter in what area of responsibility, are to be reported so corrective actions can be taken.

Tasks and Duties

• Coordinates the receipt, repair or replacement of a wide variety of static equipment such as and the return of repaired equipment to the offshore facility or to warehouse stock, in a timely, efficient and safe manner.  Arranges for work to be done in-house or at local/overseas vendors or manufacturer locations.

• Analyses each repair requirement and technically defines work to be performed and prepares necessary work orders or scopes of work.  Discusses work with in-house staff or seeks quotations from outside vendors and releases materials, parts, components or machines for the necessary repairs.  May seek advice from supervisor or company engineering staff for highly complex or recurring problems, is expected to have a sound technical background to analysis and determine most repair requirements, often of a complex nature.

• Follows-up by telephone and/or site visits and expedites repair work in progress to ensure schedules are met.  Liaises with in-house or vendor personnel to answer queries as necessary.  Makes inspections of on-going work to ensure efficient and quality repairs are carried out.

• For outside work, contacts vendors for price quotations and to check their availability to accomplish necessary repairs.  Seeks direction from supervisor/manager if cost or scope is outside/above existing contract agreements with vendors.  Prepares Release and Purchase Orders through SAP system, defining work requirements and releases mechanical pieces for outside repair. Processes purchase orders and forward these to supervisor for the procurement of necessary parts and materials.  Follows-up to ensure long and short term items are received as scheduled.  Also arranges for the release of materials from the warehouse as required.

• Liaises with members of the Offshore Maintenance & Operations Leadership team and staff on any ideas or suggestions that would improve equipment availability and minimize repair costs.

• Ensures the proper packing/crating of equipment to be sent to vendors or to be returned offshore when repairs are completed, to ensure no damage will occur during shipment.

• Assists warehouse staff in the identification of materials as requested and also participates in correcting and updating material descriptions in SAP as appropriate.

• Witnesses equipment tests at vendor site along with Mechanical Equipment Specialists and Static Equipment Specialists.

• Advises and provides technical support to Warehouse and Sourcing personnel on any technical queries that are raised from purchase orders that have been placed.  Assists in correcting or updating materials descriptions in SAP as appropriate.

• Physically inspects unused material returned from offshore and parts and repairs performed by local vendors. Uses approved specifications to ensure that materials comply with the Company's, industry's and original equipment manufacturer's standards and specifications.

• Prepares documents and technical reports and maintains vendor repair documents.  These reports and documents are used to assist the management in cost analysis, timing, and warranty follow-up.

Minimum Requirements

• Completion of Secondary or High School (10/12 years) education, followed by 2-year apprenticeship in mechanical or mechanical maintenance field in a related industry.
• 6 years' experience in mechanical operations or mechanical maintenance, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
• Fluent in the English language, both written and oral.  Capable of writing technical reports.
• Computer literate in Window's based programs and SAP systems.
• Self directed, motivated to achieve team goals, customer oriented and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
